DO THE IMPOSSIBLE

“It means believing in big goals, ground-breaking ideas, and taking those massive leaps of faith toward greatness.”

What does it mean to “Do the Impossible”? It’s a mission statement, about overcoming challenges in the face of great odds, of believing in yourself and your team and making it happen. It’s an extension of the Impossible Repairs television series, and the motto that I live by.  In Impossible Repairs, I tell stories about machines but it’s much more than that.  The machines don’t make the impossible happen; it’s the grit, skill, and determination of the hard hat heroes working behind the scenes that get the job done.  That’s because a machine – no matter how big, sophisticated, or technologically advanced it is – is only as good as the team in charge of operating it.

To me, “Do the Impossible” is a statement that I believe in, to my very core.  It means believing in big goals, ground-breaking ideas, and taking those massive leaps of faith toward greatness.  I’m all about taking the curveballs that come my way, handling the challenges that arise every day, and solving the seemingly impossible problems I am presented with; that’s the world I’ve always lived in when making these shows!  “Doing the Impossible” is what makes finding and filming these stories such a thrill to me…to see how other people deal with adversity as they wrestle with extreme weather, unpredictable machines, and seemingly unsolvable technical problems.

This is survival in the mechanical world.

After watching Impossible Repairs, I want our viewers to feel like they learned something, but I also want them to be inspired!  I want to transport people from their living rooms, laptops, smartphones and offices to a new place, where I can take them on an adventure.  My hope is always to get people excited about what we’re doing and motivate them to do THEIR impossible… to do something, make something, or fix something!

That’s the spirit of “Do the Impossible”.
